eBay Marketing Assets
Over 22M people visit the eBay homepage every day, and the main billboard is the very first thing they see.
Updated weekly, the billboard is a carousel featuring the the top events of the week. This means each design must grab the viewer's attention within just 3 seconds, before the next slide appears or they click away.


Although eBay has big brands selling on its site, a huge majority of listings are posted by independent sellers. One of the consistent design challenges of creating visually appealing and arresting slides for the billboard (and other ads) was in compositing multiple sellers’ product images into the same plane. The solve was to retouch the images, adding light and shadow, and giving the entire composition depth and dimension.
